While motorized vehicles are not allowed on the trail, motorized mobility devices are permitted. Dogs on leashes are also welcome to enjoy hiking with you.

Most of the trailway is comprised of easy hiking terrain, yet many visitors explore it one section at a time, so it may take a few visits to cover all 35kms.

One such highlight is the Caledon Hills Brewing Company, situated in an old church in Palgrave with both indoor and outdoor seating areas to eat or enjoy a brew. There are several shops and eateries in Caledon East such as the historical Villa Caledon Inn and James McCarty Pub on a breathtaking property as well as the Caledon Walk of Fame

Inglewood is a great place to grab a light bite, cup of coffee or glass of wine at Coywolf Coffee, featuring a cozy indoor space with books and board games and an expansive, shaded outdoor patio with a fire pit. Not far from there is The Cub Ice Cream & Smoothies shop open in summers and the Lost Bear Market where unique (mostly local!) giftware and homemade food is available to take home and enjoy. The Cheltenham General Store is a historical stone building backing onto the Credit River that still operates as a general store where you can eat, shop, and even post a letter at the Canada Post outlet! 

A few delights in Terra Cotta include the Terra Cotta Inn offering fine dining with an incredible view of the Credit River and a cozy pub experience downstairs. The Terra Cotta Country Store (weekends only) down the street offers mouthwatering baked goods, ice cream, coffee drinks and more. Visit the Terra Cotta Conservation Area  to hike (or snowshoe) along miles of mature Niagara Escarpment forest trails and taste maple syrup made on site during “Maple Syrup in the Park”, an annual festival in March.

Several access points along the trail provide opportunities for parking and rest.
